Manuel Pérez Alonso holds a PhD in Biology from the University of Valencia, where he is Professor of Genetics. His research activity focuses on molecular genetics and genomics applied to medicine. In his laboratory at the university he has developed, as principal investigator, more than 30 research projects, funded by various national and international organisations and three biotechnological patents that have been transferred to the biopharmaceutical industry. Among his contributions in the area of biomedicine, his participation in three international genome sequencing consortia stands out.
He is a founding partner and scientific consultant of Mendel Brain and has chaired the BioRegión of the Valencian Community (BIOVAL), as well as the Spanish Association of Scientific Entrepreneurs.
