Professor of Actuarial Statistics at the University of Barcelona. Main lines of research: longevity and dependency risk analysis, economics of ageing, pensions, and risk quantification.
Mercedes Ayuso is Professor of Actuarial Statistics at the University of Barcelona, Doctor in Economics (Extraordinary Prize) and Insurance Actuary at the same University, and Director of the Master’s Degree in Management of Insurance and Financial Institutions at the University of Barcelona.
She is also a full member of the Riskcenter-IREA research group and her most important lines of research include: longevity and dependency risk analysis, the economics of ageing, pensions and risk quantification. She has written several books related to her research areas.
She is also a member of the group of experts on ageing of the Fundación General CSIC and of the UB-Escuela de Pensamiento FM Chair on Ageing. Also, she is a member of the Board of the Instituto de Actuarios Españoles, where she is editor of its scientific journal.
