Salvador Macip is Professor of Molecular Medicine at the University of Leicester (UK) and at the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya (Spain), where he is also Director of Health Sciences Studies.
Macip graduated from the University of Barcelona (Spain) and, before setting up the Mechanisms of Cancer and Ageing Laboratory at the University of Leicester, he spent nine years at Mount Sinai Hospital in New York. He is also group leader at the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Institute (Spain).
